In 1947 Sayle Propane's parent company, Sayle Oil Company, began operations in Charleston, MS. Owner and General Manager Isaac E "Nookie" Sayle had just come back from WWII, borrowed some money from a relative, and began primarily as a service station with delivery of petroleum products to farms and country stores.
As the economy accelerated through the 50's and 60's, Sayle Oil Company began to concentrate its efforts in surrounding areas opening bulk plants in Greenwood and Clarksdale and also devoting a considerable amount of effort toward service stations and convenience stores.
Beginning in the late 70's the Gas Mart stores came into existence resulting in 13 total stores. In the late 80's, Sayle Oil Company developed its Wholesale Department to include bulk oil, and once again began expanding its farm and consumer business. In 1990, the Propane Division was conceived and has experienced rapid growth during the past years of its operation.
Since the 1990’s. Sayle Propane has grown to operate six locations that serve numerous counties in North and Central Mississippi. We provide consumer propane services to more than 11,000 homes, including propane home heating, propane water heating, and propane for drying clothes.
Sayle Propane also offers propane to businesses for lift truck fuel and industrial heating, and to agriculture accounts for grain dryers and well motors. We also fill grill cylinders and recreational vehicle tanks at every location.
If it runs on propane, we can supply it!
